We can indulge ourselves by devising new rules which enable us to categorize our particular indulgence as Paleolithic. This is probably a harmless game, but if we have deliberately adopted a Paleolithic diet for health, fat-reduction or therapeutic reasons, we should be aware that our little game can easily jeopardize our serious goals. Don’t kid yourself! And don’t let your indulgences creep incrementally away from Paleolithic principles if this is important to you. You may be responding to cravings or cultural influences which themselves derive from modern, non-Paleo sources.
